Essential reports in WorkBook

This guide gives a quick overview of the most popular and essential reports in WorkBook. There are many other standard reports available in WorkBook and they can easily be explored simply by running them from the application.

Job profitability (185)

Probably the single most valuable report in WorkBook giving a complete view of the profitability on clients/jobs – or any other available dimension.

Can be found in the job list – and uses the job filter set to hence only display the chosen clients/jobs.

Used to show either “How did it go?” on closed jobs or to monitor “How are we progressing?” on open jobs.

A detailed guide to this report can be found here: http://help.workbook.net/knowledgebase/profitability/

Employee profitability (323)

Very popular report illustrating the distribution of hours for employees.

Can be found in the job list – but does not use the job filter set.

Weekly time sheet check (64)

The main report for following up on time entry by multiple employees.

Includes a valuable feature in terms of showing if day is approved or not – which for instance can be used to verify that entering below basic time is actually intended.

Can be found in the job list – but does not use the job filter set.

Time overview: Employee / client / job (175)

The report with the finest details about a single employee’s time entry in a given time frame.

Can be found in the job list – but does not use the job filter set.

Time used on scheduled tasks (258)

The main report for following up on scheduled versus actual hours – task by task and job by job.

Can be found in the job list – and uses the job filter set to hence only display the chosen clients/jobs. For instance showing “My jobs as a PM”.

Price quote list, 12 month forecast (426)

A report showing expected invoicing activity in the next 12 months.

Can be based on payment schemes made on the price quotes which will give a very detailed invoicing forecast.

Can be found in the job list – and uses the job filter set to hence only display the chosen clients/jobs.

Pipeline summary forecast

A highly valuable online view only – showing 12 month expected revenue from the backlog/order book, pending price quotes and opportunities/leads.

The view is by default designed to show the numbers from a WIP accounting perspective – i.e. showing the remaining quote to be delivered. In system variable 962 the principle can be changed to display based on payment schemes – i.e. resembling revenue recognition based on actual invoicing.

Filters are available in the right hand side to show for instance by company or by client.

Actual finance numbers can be included if setup here (will then be visible to anyone with access to the pipeline module):

If wanting to include finance numbers date is recommended be set to start date of fiscal year:

Financial bookings report (264)

A very valuable report showing any single finance account or groups of finance accounts split by dimension.

It is based on customized setup allowing for up to 12 columns to be displayed in the same report. A detailed guide to setting up the report can be found here: http://help.workbook.net/knowledgebase/financial-bookings-report-report-264/

Mainly used for giving a simple overview of Gross Profit numbers by dimension.
